A Sonnet is… |
A sonnet is a thing of infinite No, not quite infinite, variety: But a creation nonetheless which we Can take and shape in different ways and quite Unlike the constrained haiku or cinquain, Because one has the time and liberty To express an idea quite comfortably, Digress a bit… and then return again. However, even fourteen lines seems short Sometimes. We have to watch our words and mind Our feet. But then we pause, and to try to find A turn, another angle on our thoughts Beyond the halfway point – so there will be A tension: freedom versus symmetry. ©The contents of this page are copyright protected.
